NO Way they should be there. Your performance shouldn't be based on one big whopping exam. Some people freak out during exams and do poorly.

Exams...I think they're good because they help refresh everything you've learned... But I do hate it when you do poorly on one, one of the worst feelings

they r good if u actually study for them but not so good if u dont no wats going on. But another thing the worse feeling is when u think u did good in an exam but the results come and well lets just say all u see is ur parents mad face hahaha
